46. Making Middle Memories

Aug 5, 2025    Pastor Blake Turner

In this sermon “Making Middle Memories” Pastor Blake teaches from Mark 4:35–5:1 about the promise and purpose of the “middle” seasons of life. Jesus’ words, “Let us go to the other side”, are a guarantee—not a suggestion. If He says it, you can trust you’ll get there. But the middle—the storms, the delays, the unexpected struggles—is where faith is built. Smooth waters may get you to the top, but they won’t keep you there. In the storm, Jesus is shaping trust, respect, and maturity, preparing you for what’s on the other side. The Greek word phimoo (“be still”) means “to muzzle,” showing His authority to silence what’s raging against you. The middle isn’t meant to break you—it’s meant to make you. Your anchor in the middle is the unshakable word of Jesus (Hebrews 6:19).
